U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has spent the night in intensive care after being admitted to the unit Monday evening when his coronavirus symptoms worsened.
A statement from Downing Street said that over the course of Monday afternoon, “the condition of the Prime Minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital.”
The prime minister announced that he had tested positive for the coronavirus on March 27 and was said to be suffering from “mild symptoms.” But Johnson was admitted to St Thomas’ hospital in London Sunday evening for “tests” due to his “persistent symptoms.”
