According to a press release on the Press Information Bureau website, “the relaxation is extended for 30 days from February 14, 2020 onward, these 30 fee plazas have been allowed to operate up to 25 percent of all fee lanes as hybrid (cash plus FASTag) lanes during this period.”
This comes after the NHAI, which is implementing the electronic toll collection (ETC) program, raised ‘concerns’ regarding high cash transactions at 30 more identified toll plazas in the country. Earlier, 65 fee plazas were allowed to operate up to 25 per cent of all fee lanes as hybrid (cash plus FASTag) lanes from January 15, 2020.
